Although I encourage everyone to purchase the Fluendo GStreamer Playback Plugins if you can, I've made the free GStreamer ASF Plugin available from my ips repository at http://ips.homeunix.com:10906.

It appears that having the GStreamer FFMPEG plugin isn't enough to play ASF files without the Fluendo pack. With both FFMPEG and ASF plugins installed you can. The FFMPEG plugin will take care of the WMA and WMV audio and video streams found in most ASF files.

Again, if you need to add my repository to your OpenSolaris installation follow the steps below to add the repository and install the plugins.

1. "pkg set-authority -O http://ips.homeunix.com:10906 ips.homeunix.com" to add repository.
2. "pkg refresh --full" to update catalog.
3. "pkg install MBLgst-plugin-asf" to install plugins.
